A family member gave us a gift card recently for a restaurant that we would never go to otherwise. We had an okay meal but then when we tried to pay for the meal with the gift card we were told that there was no money on it. Just another reason that I dislike gift cards.

From my experience, sending anything certified mail is like taking the slow boat to China. Instead I use USPS Priority Mail with tracking/tracing/delivery confirmation. This works much better for me.

I have the RAV4 hybrid. Test drive the Highlander and you might be surprised by the power. The electric motors typically provide more torque than a gas powered ICE.

For several years we spent time at various lakes around Lake Placid, FL. Typically, this was during the month February. We never experienced a mosquito problem. The wildlife is abundant which is one of the reasons we like the area. Great boating and fishing too.

Using HR Block software, we electronically submitted our tax returns on February 15th. Our refunds were deposited today, February 23rd. I know, a true Boglehead would be submitting a payment with their tax return and not ever be due a refund.

A word of caution about the RAV4s ventilated seats. Some say they don't get as warm as the non-ventilated version. My RAV4's seats are not ventilated and the get very warm.

No, I never cover mine but at least once a year I hose it out thoroughly. I spray out the coils too. It is surprising how much stuff gets sucked into the bottom of the unit.
