Re: What was the investment climate like in the bull market 10 years ago?

Would you mind posting the exact mathematical formula and inputs you used to come up with these numbers? I hear this a lot from folks like Peter Schiff, but always without specifics.Fat-Tailed Contagion wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 8:41 pm Using CPI methodology from the 1980's, INFLATION we would be calculated at over 15% today.

There's so many great posts on this thread. I too, view this forum as a sort of "home base," where logic and reason will always prevail. So many dedicated posters with no ego, who's only goal is to be rational.

14.3% of my gross income purchases the S&P weekly, on Mondays. 6.6% purchases international, and 1.1% buys bonds. I don't buy any more than that, because I don't have any extra money to do so.

Re: Are you a Boglehead?
In as much as I let papers, studies, and data guide my financial decisions, hold broadly diversified index funds, and keep any "bets," (single stocks, alternatives) to below 10% of my portfolio, I'd consider myself a boglehead.

This type of situation is exactly why I prefer to maintain separate accounts even in marriage. Provided everyone is contributing to the expense of maintaining the household equitably (time, money, labor, however that is worked out) do what you want with your money, I'll do what I want with mine.
