Tax question Working remotely for MA company from NY, but lived in NH and commuted to office short period of time.

In 2020 daughter graduated and got job for a Massachusets company while living in NY. She worked remotely for a couple months from NY, and then moved to NH. While living in NH, she commuted to MA and worked in the office. In December, she moved back home to NY and went back to working remotely. Whil...

Is this a private sale? Wouldn't buying from a dealership offer a better interest rate? Way back when in the dark ages - when I bought a used car it was from a dealership. I had a "down payment" about 1/2 the cost of the car and they gave a 24 month loan. I think I had had my first real f...

Buy a $8k used Mazda. problem solved. Haven't gone used car shopping lately have ya..8k buys you an impending costly headache unless you can do your own repairs. Being in different state, I'm not there to do a brake job or anything else. Anything saved gets handed over to the mechanic. There is a p...

Good suggestions. As far as her saving, we , or shall I say am looking for peace of mind having her drive something reliable. She lives out of state, and a breakdown will be costly and could levaee her without a way to to get back and forth to work. I'm against getting an 8k car, because Ive seen wh...

Daughter , recent college grad, working full time around 50k year, very low living expenses, no cc debt fico around 690. Not much of credit history other than a small student loan she's been paying on. Looking at buying used mazda 2 -3 years old for around 13k. She'll be putting around 8k down so lo...

Quick update. Uggg I never should have started down this path. We stopped in at a Toyota dealer to drive a Rav4 again and so she can really compare the feel to our CRV. Took it for a pretty long ride. Some things she liked better, some things were worse. Overall, she wasn't completely sold enough to...

Too long of a post because I was bored and over thought this but here goes: What I'm considering really goes against everything I do in regards to car ownership Our rule of thumb for car buying has always been, buy new and keep it for at least 7 years and then sell on my own, unless I suspect a MAJO...

gotta love the 2.24% Bumping up the rate .7 sucks, but going with fixed would just let me forget about watching rates which would be a nice peace of mind. no $65 annual fee is a tink bonus, its just the damn $540 mortgage tax upfront which kinda stinks.

Advice: refinance balance on variable Heloc to a Fixed rate HELOC for peace of mind.

Currently have a Variable HELOC with Third Federal with balance of $65K, current rate of 2.24% That's all that's owed on house, no first mortgage. House is appraised at 135,000. We took this out this past Nov because our old HElOC which was taken out many years ago to basically payoff original mortg...

Closing costs on a refinance. Negotiable and how?

My HELOC draw period is coming to an end in a few months. Balance is around $65k(paid of original mortgage with Heloc so no mortgage) I think, because of current rates, it's a good time to just get back into a 15yr fixed mortgage. Looking to borrow a total of $70k plus whatever closing costs are. Pe...
