GoldPressed, I do not know what the target date funds do after the target date. I see your point that maybe leaving it in that fund for the 10 years of withdrawel makes more sense.

I think she turned 65 and started Medicare last October, so it looks like she had a once in a lifetime chance to purchase insurance without medical screening and that window closed in April. I was afraid of that.

I drive 8000 miles a year, what car do you recommend?

Hello everyone. I have a 2007 Prius that has 155K miles on it. Edmunds values it at $750, so when something goes wrong I will probably buy a new car. What do you recommend for someone who wants a safe car without frills? It is for work commuting and shopping. I rarely have more than one passenger.

We bought the 14-inch Novaform king mattress at Costco about 6 weeks ago. I think it was $699. Have you considered just buying a new mattress? BTW the Novaform is the most comfortable mattress we have ever owned. You don't need a box spring, and the "topper" is built in.

I understand that someone can live with dementia for 10-15 years, and this would definitely deplete our assets if one of us required that kind of care for that long. I was trying to understand what happens to the healthy spouse. Thanks for the reply.
