If it is natural, you don't need a strategy, it just happens as a response to anxiety.
With a 3% withdrawal rate, it probably isn't necessary to have a conscious strategy, beyond thinking about rebalancing and which asset type to pull funds from in different situations.

Be aware of any limitations your COBRA coverage may have once you move out of state. We have excellent coverage at megacorp, but with our current plan, there are limited benefits once you leave the city and the local health network we use.

There are not any particular repercussions. DH rolled his bloated Roth IRA to another institution to get a bonus, but keeps one at the same institution as his 401k to facilitate the MBR. I believe the IRS considers them all as one Roth IRA when it comes to withdrawal ordering rules.

Irrespective of the numbers, seems like it is going to be more and more important to look at spending, rather than income, as fewer people have pensions and hopefully more have savings, in a mix of traditional, Roth and taxable accounts.

I am back with my trail running recommendations. A lot of trail runners specifically advertise their roomy toe box. I prefer Merrill Trail Gloves, but there are more traditional options with that roomy toe box, as well.
