Re: Products to remove grime from metal

Micro Fiber cloths work with hot water and or clean solutions.
Mothers make some good metal polish/cleaners. Usually found in the car care aisle.

Re: Rollover a Roth Annuity?

I know, I know
It was a guy at our credit union. Got this before I saw the light at Bogleheads.org.
Was told it would make a guaranteed 6% 10 years ago.
Sounded good at the time.
Will be cashed out at the upcoming 10th anniversary.
Thanks!

Rollover a Roth Annuity?

I have an annuity in a Roth account with Prudential.
I also have a Roth conversion with Vanguard.
Does anyone know if I can rollover the Roth annuity into my Vanguard Roth account?
Thanks!

Re: Ira transfer to Vanguard

I recently closed an account with Portfolio Solutions.TD Ameritrade was the account custodian. Vanguard initiated the transfer. My monies just showed up in my Vanguard account today; 15 days after I started the process. The reason? 6 days after the supposed start of the transfer I get a call from a ...

Would VTC (Vanguard Total Corporate Bond ETF) be acceptable as the bond component in my AA?

Re: Transferring Voya 403b to another Annuity.

I recently rolled over a Voya 403b annuity to an IRA. I met all of the criteria for not incurring any penalties and had the funds put directly into the new IRA. Getting your money out of Voya is like pulling teeth. It took about 3 months of back and forth. I faxed all of the paperwork. They use snai...

Re: Car battery?

IMO, the best type of battery out there is a Flat Plate AGM Battery. Pricey? Yes...but you get what you pay for.

Re: Hyatt Legal first hand experiences ? (new Employer benefit)

I have used Hyatt Legal twice in the period of 10 years to write and then update a will and trust. I used the same attorney both times. She seemed very competent. I suppose that you don't know how competent the attorney is until the will/trust is invoked. Then it's to late. Maybe while on Hyatt, hav...

Re: Hydroseeding. Anyone used it?

Hydro seeding works fine. So does seeding. Hydro seeding is commonly used for larger areas.Either method requires that you pay close attention to irrigating until established or you're paying for nothing. Most important is the prep of the seed bed. Sod is more expensive, but more forgiving in gettin...

Re: Lg refrigerator vs Samsung refrigerator.

I too am in the market for a new reefer. It looks to me that there are about 4 manufacturers, the only difference between some of the brands are a few cosmetic and design features. Regardless of the brand, I have found that it is more important to buy from a local dealer that services what they sell...

Re: Investing well for Retirement can be frustrating

Keep plugging away and you'll have no worries latter on. 15 years ago I had a solar system installed at net cost to me for 17K. My neighbor built a $70K dune buggy at the same time. Another friend bought a $50K boat. Both thought I was nuts spending that money on a solar system. It has paid for itse...

Re: car rental at OGG, any opinions?

Costco is the way to go although I've had good luck getting really cheap rentals from Priceline. With Priceline you need to keep plugging away and try different classes of cars. Give yourself a few weeks of trying Priceline.

Re: Bonds in a Taxable Account.

I think I've come to my senses. I think I've put to much emphasis on taxes. I am going to stay the course and continue to invest in my three fund portfolio with the current AA; see what transpires over the next few years and let my tax guy figure it out.
Thank you for all your insightful posts.

Re: Bonds in a Taxable Account.

Thanks for the reply. I am 64. I looked at last year taxes (which I don't do) and determined that I am in the 25% Federal bracket and the 9.3% California bracket. I'd like to spend the money starting within a couple of years. I have plenty of cash and was under the impression that the bonds were an ...

Bonds in a Taxable Account.

My first post. Hopefully someday I will be able to contribute some worthwhile advise like many of you do. Thanks! I am retired, have an 80K pension, $750K in a tax advantaged account. I also have approx. $100K in various taxable accounts to add to an existing Vanguard account. I live in California, ...
