This is a survey of mass delusions, both financial bubbles and end-times religious fanaticism. I found myself wishing that more space had been devoted to investment bubbles.

I'm catching up on this thread after missing a few months. Here are some updates: Humble Pi by Matt Parker. A mathematician/comedian discussing some historic mistakes based on math errors. Pretty entertaining though I'm no engineer or mathematician. He's a performer and the audiobook was well done. ...

It's only necessary if you use it. Can't predict the future though. It is a rare person who might need umbrella, or even knows what is, and also cares about $168 a year.

As long as you’re ok with complexity, treasuries don’t make a lot of sense right now. Use savings accounts or CDs. Or use the cash to open accounts for bonuses.

Yikes. So you have gotten murdered since March and apparently still haven't learned the lesson. The typical answer there is no chance you or anyone else can successfully time the market. A little perspective--an extra .24% on 25% of a mid 6-figure portfolio is a couple hundred dollars. Great to avoid but your portfolio moves 10x that every day. Plus aren't there mountain lions in the hills? I don't know anything about TIAA but a stable value at 2% might be a good bond option for you...

Hard to say much without knowing your goals, or any specific questions. $150k seems light at your age but I don't know anything else about you. Clearly you haven't been contributing 45k annually for long. Is this actually realistic? Your portfolio as listed has 19% bonds so you're a little light the...

Point 1: I want bonds in tax deferred—less growth=smaller RMDs, and stock funds in taxable—more efficient although less important with low yields. You can make any AA changes you want within tax advantages accounts. Point 2 this isn’t really TLH you’re just trying to rearrange your portfolio without...

Except the yield of all the funds discussed in this thread is 0 (OK VGIT is 0.29%), so if you're making a change you should open a high-yield savings account or CD. I'd rather pay tax on 0.6% than have no yield at all. And also consider I bonds.
