For Colorado, you want an AWD for treks into the mountains.
Suggest Subaru Crosstrek (crossover), Forester (xompact suv) or Legacy (sedan). These vehicles are sub 30k
You could also get a Honda (CRV or Accord) or Toyota (Rav4 or Camry).
If it was my money, I’d go 1) Rav4 2) CRV 3) Forester 4) other.

If can’t install returns in each room(this should be first option although more expensive) would just go with the Tamarack above each door (or where possible).
We have a bedroom closet that doesnt get air and I bought one to let air flow between room to closet.

Re: Removing mold/mildew stains from washing machine rubber gasket
Removal: 50/50 water bleach mix in bucket (wear gloves) Soak enough rags in solution to place inside/on the rubber gasket where mold is present (usually its the lower ring of the gasket so I usually need 2-3 rags). Let the rags soak on the gasket for several hours until mold is gone - scrub away any remaining if needed. If the above does not work (usually does for me), buy a replacement gasket and youtube how to replace your specific model. Make sure to wear work gloves because the metal panels can be extremely sharp. I ended up in urgent care with stitches after replacing my gasket. Maintenance: After done washing for day, quickly wipe down door, rubber gasket and leave door propped open to allow air in. Leave soap tray open as well to air...

Honeywell T9. Best thermostat I’ve ever used. Integrates with Apple Housekit if you want. If not, you can easily hook up sensors and use it as a smarter dumb thermostat. Its a better version of an Ecobee imo.

1. Rugged looks
2. Seems to be safer overall? E.g. better traction in rain/snow?
3. Ruggedness helps with occasional offroading & cali roads
4. More interior space
5. Both have third rows
I haven't test driven them yet. I'm just looking & not in any rush. I have narrowed down my search to Toyota only SUV's.

Been to China multiple times. Worth the visit to Beijing if you are nearby.
Google how to get visas, its not that bad. Usually you have to go to consulate nearby.
I’d look into getting Yuan here in US for the trip to use. I was able to exchange at a bank in China but my friend spoke chinese so that helped.
Don’t miss out on Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall, National Stadium, etc.
Make sure to eat Xinjiang style food when there. Amazing.

Given her recent start in the real world, roth 401k makes sense. She should also open up a roth ira and fully fund that every year. I started out much lower and contributed to roth 401k until I reached the middle income tax brackets (I didn’t and don’t expect to be in the top bracket). At that point, I changed my Roth 401k to traditional (pre-tax).

Not sure what state you live in but you should find a local insurance broker (not a state farm agent). Someone who will advise on policy limits and shop around for the best rate on your behalf. They get their cut from the policy issuance and renewal, so no out of pocket for you. If your renewal cost increases, they will shop it for you again at renewal.

Set up Index funds , not ETF’s. Why? Because you can setup auto investing into index funds . ETFs have no auto investing option. You will create a habit for your kids of long term passive investing vs trading ETF’s . Once they understand how it works they will decide if they need investing into ETF’s I take it that they don't have $3k for Vanguard's minimum. They would need to do a provider that has $0 minimum. The issue with VTI is share price. They want to do $100/m and VTI is over $200. ITOT would seem to be perfect. SPTM or SCHB as well. Another possibility is M1 Finance which allows you to purchase ETFs in dollar based increments rather than whole shares. If you prefer buying mutual funds to "trading" ETFs but want the porta...

Not looking to debate whether this is right or wrong to do ... Each month I deposit $100 into two separate accounts (I have two kids). The accounts are in my name and my goal is to "give" them the money once they turn 18. I'll be on the hook for taxes when I sell but I'll control when and how much (entire account or bits and pieces). Having recently learned that mutual funds aren't ideal in a taxable account I'm considering redirecting the money into an ETF. However I wouldnt be able to buy fractional shares. Is anyone doing anything similar? What are my options other than saving up $3k and putting it into a VTSAX which I understand is more tax efficient. Set up Index funds , not ETF’s. Why?
