IRS may have delayed it on their systems due to the change in the due date.

Direct Pay and EFTPS wouldn't be affected by this because they are separate systems.

They've simplified their pricing.

There is a price to buy a transaction fee mutual fund, and then there is a price per channel (i.e. doing phone versus web). They now just add them together if you call in.

I used Policy Genius, although I am young and healthy so have pretty basic needs. Found their rep to be very helpful and they weren’t paid on commission (although the overall company is).

Before it is too late, set your cost basis as specific identification. You’ll want it set up that way when you learn about tax loss harvesting. You're going to be fine... your return has to be accepted by their initial filing system, make it into their mainframe, and then go through a payments system for the debit to be initiated. You don't owe that money until 4/15 so wait 10-14 business days before doing anything. In the future, as well, ...

I'm not near retirement, but if I were I would draw from whatever fund would re-balance my account to a desired asset allocation into a bank account with 3-6 months of expenses.

Another option is something like a Vanguard LifeStrategy Income for for 2-3 years of expenses to reduce risk/volatility.

You should keep trying. All payments are supposed to be made under the primary filer's SSN, so they will need to move the payment over.

Anything is possible! Think a big tenet of looking at my investments from a rational/academic-informed perspective that underpins Bogleheads' philosophy, as opposed to emotion, is that I'm taking risk in equities because I have to to get return.

Definitely recommend you prioritize your mental health over all else... that being said, I think there is some middle ground you're missing in 1) trying to take a paid or unpaid leave of absence, vacation, etc. that will enable you to take a break and 2) seeing a therapist or other professional.

I think it does, but Total Bond is 10k+ bonds with longer duration (8.5 years). 83% are A+ or US Government. Don't think you have a lot of genuine cause for concern.
